I am sad to say that my insparation for building VWs passed away at midnight this morning. She was the person who was with me when I boughht my first VW. A rotted out broke down 71 super beetle. everyone who saw it thought it was a piece of junk. I thought it was the most beatiful car in the world at the time. My Mom supported me along with the Santiago Ohana (My Hanai family :o)) while I learned how to wrench on VWs, In the end the car ended up being a piece of junk. But in it all I learn alot and have been inspired ever since to continue to wrench on VWs. Through the years I have made many friends within the VW community. Ive learn many of things through the years. VWs have taken me down a whole lotta ups and a whole lotta downs. But in life we live and we learn. Along the way we make friends and some become as close as family.
In all the VWs that I have ever built. there was one saying that I always kept to myself.
Every VW that I built was "Inspired by many, but Dedicated to a Few". Those who know me, know what this means.
- Santiago Ohana
- Vernon Walters "VW Vern"
- Randy Abe
